In July 2020, Ravens Consulting undertook a consultancy focused on electronic survey authoring for a project titled “Cardiovascular Risk Factors, Depression, and Quality of Life in Patients Receiving Antiretroviral Therapy in Rural Tanzania.” This project, implemented by Health for a Prosperous Nation (HPON), aimed to identify cardiovascular risk factors, depression, and the quality of life in patients undergoing antiretroviral therapy in rural Tanzania.
The project was carried out in two key locations: Kahama district hospital and Shinyanga region referral hospital. Ravens Consulting’s role involved programming the data collection tool, which was crucial for gathering accurate and comprehensive data. They also provided training for research assistants to ensure they were well-prepared to use the electronic tools effectively.
Ravens Consulting’s responsibilities extended beyond programming and training. They also managed data collection activities, ensuring that the data gathered was of high quality and accurately reflected the conditions and experiences of the patients. This comprehensive data management was vital for the project’s success.
The primary goal of the HPON project was to identify and understand the cardiovascular risk factors, levels of depression, and overall quality of life among patients receiving antiretroviral therapy. Ravens Consulting’s work was integral to achieving these objectives by providing reliable and well-managed data collection tools and processes.
At the conclusion of the project, Ravens Consulting successfully delivered an electronic data collection tool tailored to the project’s needs. They also effectively managed the data collection process across all the involved areas, contributing significantly to the project’s outcomes and insights.
