Ravens Consulting conducted a baseline survey in five regions in Tanzania—Arusha, Geita, Kigoma, Mtwara, and Lindi. This survey was part of a two-year project titled “Enabling Improved Governance and Accountability in Tanzania through Digital Technology,” led by Oxfam in Tanzania in collaboration with Oxfam Solidarite (Belgium).

For this project, Ravens Consulting was responsible for developing and translating all data collection tools, which included both qualitative and quantitative methods. They ensured that these tools were appropriate and effective for gathering the necessary information.

In addition to tool development, Ravens Consulting identified valid comparison groups and handled the sampling process. This step was critical to ensure that the data collected would be representative and provide meaningful insights into the project’s impact.

Ravens Consulting also vetted and trained field workers who would be involved in data collection. This training was essential to prepare the workers to collect data accurately and efficiently using the tools provided.

The data collection activities in the field were led by Ravens Consulting using SurveyCTO, an electronic data collection technology. This approach helped streamline the data collection process, ensuring that the information gathered was reliable and could be easily analyzed to inform the project’s progress and outcomes.
